Carol Chuang

Carol Chuang, a native of Taiwan, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from National Institute of the Arts in Taiwan (later renamed as Taipei National University of the Arts). She came to the United States in 1996 pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. Since then she has been active as a chamber music performer, piano teacher, clinician, and a music business entrepreneur both in the United States and Taiwan. Currently, Ms. Chuang is the Executive Director/Founder of the Pacific Institute of Music, California, United States. !As the pianist and co-founder of PIOM Piano Trio, as well as the Chuang-Kim Piano Duo, Ms Chuang performs regularly in California. She is a frequent guest at such established chamber music festivals and concert series, as Crocker Art Museum Concert Series, Westminster Presbyterian Church “Music At Noon” Concert Series, MTAC State Convention, Folsom Lake College Harris Center for the Arts to name a few.!Ms Chuang is a passionate piano teacher, avid music educator and a clinician. During her more than 25 years of teaching, she has brought up numerous prize winners of local, state and international competitions, such as United States Open Music Competition, International Crescendo Music Competition, New York Debut Young Musician Competition, Xinghai Cup National Piano Competition, International Music Festival, Auburn Symphony Young Artist Competition, Classical Master Music Festival, MTAC Piano Solo Competition State Final, State Final of CAPMT Honors Competition, Contemporary Music Competition, Concerto Competition, and others. Her students have been frequently appearing as soloists with the symphony and chamber orchestras across the United States.!As successful administrator and entrepreneur, Ms Chuang has been serving as a president of two major non-profit music organizations: Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC - Sierra Branch) and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT - Sacramento Chapter). Also, Ms Chuang currently serves as California Coordinator of Crescendo International Music Competition, Coordinator of International Music Festival in California, and a board member of Classical Masters Music Festival. Being active member of her community, she has been organizing many educational outreach programs and fundraising campaigns.
