Israeli pianist Ilana Vered is worldly recognized as one of the leading pianists of her generation. From a young age Vered attended the Paris Conservatoire, which awarded her first prize in piano upon her graduation at age 15; among her teachers were Vlado Perlemuter and Jeanne-Marie Darré. She continued her music studies at the Juilliard School under Rosina Lhévinne. In 1961 she won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and the first prize at the Aspen international music festival and played with orchestra conducted by James Levine. The "Rockefeller Foundation Award” sponsored her first tours in Europe.

Vered has also taught world wide master classes and has founded two festivals, the summer-fest Series of Rutgers University and Music Fest Perugia in Perugia, Italy.
She recorded for Decca since 1970s. She made the world premiere complete recording of Moszkowski's 15 Études de Virtuosité, Op. 72, in 1970. She also recorded the five Beethoven concertos as well as the Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2, Rachmaninoff Paganini Rhapsody, Mozart Concerto No. 21 and 23 and Brahms Concerto No. 2, in addition to many solo recordings.
Vered has been a guest on television and radio, including appearances on The Today Show, Good Morning America, and the Merv Griffin Show, as well as guest performances on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Public television stations in the United States and the BBC in the United Kingdom. Vered has made a series of feature-length films entitled "Looking at Music," which was telecast by the BBC. These films are being distributed as home videos in the U.S. by BMG. In 2006, Vered founded Music Fest Perugia, which has grown to become an internationally renowned classical music festival. It attracts top, aspiring young classical musicians from around the world.
In 2023 Ilana Vered has accepted to join the piano section of the Jerusalem Academy of Music. Students who wish to study in her class should sign up ASAP with the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In the last years Ilana Vered has spent a lot of time in Zoom teaching, with advanced students from all over the world. Many of her students have recently won prizes in prestigious international competitions.
