Donna Fishwick Ensemble
She trains and presents a very unique Piano ensemble of students ranging in ages from 7 to 14.  These young artists, in addition to standard solo and concerto repertoire, perform wonderful arrangements of virtuoso pieces for 8 hands, 2 pianos, 2 pianos 4 hands, and for piano duet.
The Donna Fishwick Piano Ensemble is an award-winning group of talented performers from Vancouver, Canada. These young artists have enjoyed international acclaim and have graced such stages as the Cairo Opera House, Egypt, Liechtenstein Palace in Prague, Steinway Hall in New York, Bosendorfer Recital Hall in Vienna, as well as performances in Disneyland and on board several cruise ships.
Recently in 2014 and again in 2016, several of these young artists were 1st place winners for the Vancouver Audition in the Crescendo International Piano Competition and were featured at this competition’s Gala Concert in Carnegie Hall in New York City. Their wealth of repertoire includes transcriptions and original compositions for 2, 4, 6 and 8 hands for one or two pianos which make this young group truly a unique spectacle of classical music.
Many of their performers have received silver and gold medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music for their excellence. Many members have also performed with major symphony-orchestras. 2016 marks the fourth tour of Europe for the Piano Ensemble. The Donna Fishwick Piano Ensemble is a unique musical experience and an opportunity to hear a very professional level of playing by very talented and dedicated young artists.
The first concert will be at 18:00 featuring solo pieces until 4 hands ensembles, with a various range of classical music from all the centuries, played by the students. At 19:15, Wayne Weng will give a solo recital with works by Schubert, Kurtag and Liszt.  Pianist Wayne Weng’s playing has been described as “bold, vibrant, and immensely musical,” and as having “delicacy amounting to almost reverence […] through gossamer touch” (Wiltshire Gazette & Herald).  His “ability to modulate the piano’s sound […] coupled with his great ear easily gave him an edge” (Sioux City Journal) to capture the first prize at the 2013 Iowa Piano Competition.
He has also won prizes at the Washington International Competition for Piano, Tunbridge Wells International Young Artists Competition, Haverhill Sinfonia Soloists Competition, Pacific Piano Competition, CBC Debut Concert Artists Auditions, and Kingsville International Young Performers Competition.  And he has been a recipient of the Solti Foundation Grant and the British Columbia Arts Council Senior Scholarship.
