Concerto Program

Concerto

MFP is the only festival in the world where over 90% of its students appear as soloists with orchestra in formal concerts during the course of the festival. Our brilliant resident orchestra tirelessly collaborates with all of our exciting young artists for evenings of pure magic.

At this time, only those students who have registered for our piano program or string program are eligible and encouraged to apply to play a Concerto movement with our orchestra.

  • All new students that are recommended by their professors to play a movement of a concerto with our orchestra, are required to send a video or Youtube link (included on the registration form). We advise all applying students to send a video of their choice of concerto movement. The recording does NOT need to be from a public performance, nor does it need to be accompanied by orchestra or second piano.

Once passing successfully this taped audition, the student will have a public appearance in our evening concert series with a large audience.

Returning students who have successfully performed with the orchestra are exempt from the video audition.

MFP reserves the sole right in making final selections and programming for the Concerto Concerts.
